These characteristics included wings and the ability to fly, along with thinner bones and larger appetites. The flock has bird DNA within their system, thus allowing them to portray bird-like characteristics. One of the main aspects that I enjoyed about this novel was how the characters were part bird. Do Max and her companions escape the clutches of the Erasers? Part human and park wolf, they have been tasked to search for the flock. Additionally, another group of mutants, the Erasers, were created. Jeb took on the role of father figure and taught them how to follow the unwritten rules within society. Fortunately, a scientist named Jeb aided the children in escaping the laboratory. There, they were genetically altered to become part human and part bird. The flock was raised in a laboratory, referred to as “The School”. The members of the flock include Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel, whose ages range from six to fourteen. Unfortunately, only a few members of the flock attempted to save Angel from the scientist’s corrupt grasp. Published by James Patterson in 2005, the remarkable novel introduces the conflict that the flock faced: the youngest child of the group, Angel, is abducted by the Erasers and is returned to the sinister laboratory. Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, is an action-packed science fiction novel. Book cover of Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment written by James Patterson
